Contollo Colleagues Support The Toy Appeal

Eight colleagues from Contollo’s Manchester office recently spent a rewarding day volunteering with The Toy Appeal, helping the charity prepare hundreds of Christmas gift sacks for children who may otherwise go without.

Working alongside other volunteers, the team helped pack 400 Christmas sacks for children aged 11, as well as 150 sacks specifically prepared for 12 year old boys.

The day provided an opportunity for our colleagues to contribute their time to an important cause and support the incredible work taking place behind the scenes ahead of Christmas.

Making Christmas special for thousands of children

The Toy Appeal was founded to ensure that children living in poverty receive a sack of presents to open on Christmas morning.

During its 2026 campaign, the charity is aiming to provide gifts for 8,000 children. It will have supported an incredible 83,000 children since it was established in 2013.

Each Christmas sack is thoughtfully prepared with age appropriate gifts, helping to create a memorable Christmas morning for children and families who may be experiencing difficult circumstances.

Reaching so many children requires an enormous amount of organisation, generosity and practical support. Volunteers play a vital role in preparing the sacks and making sure the gifts are ready to reach the families who need them.

Our colleagues joined other volunteers to sort and pack hundreds of Christmas sacks during the day.

Although the volunteering took place on an especially warm day, the team worked together to complete the task and help The Toy Appeal move another step closer to its annual target.

It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved and a reminder of the difference that can be made when businesses, charities, volunteers and local communities come together around a shared purpose.

The team will also have another opportunity to support the campaign later in the year by helping to deliver the gifts in time for Christmas.

At Contollo, we believe it is important to create opportunities for our colleagues to support meaningful causes within the communities where we live and work.

Volunteering allows our teams to contribute their professional time and personal energy to organisations that are making a tangible difference. It also gives colleagues the opportunity to work together outside their usual roles and learn more about the challenges faced by people within their local communities.

We are incredibly proud of the eight colleagues who took part and grateful to The Toy Appeal for giving our team the opportunity to support its work.

The success of The Toy Appeal depends on the generosity of its supporters and the time given by volunteers.

Businesses and individuals can support the charity in several ways, including donating gifts or funds, volunteering to prepare Christmas sacks and helping with deliveries during the festive season.

Every contribution helps The Toy Appeal reach another child and ensures they have something special to open on Christmas morning.
